There's no old here...

So father and I have had this thing about old things vs new things... He has a really old vacuum here and it's heavy and had a broken hose... I bought a new cheap one at the Walmart a month or so ago... it broke already... I decided to observe the scene ...

Father:  "... how long you gonna let that sit there..."

Me:  I got a new belt for it...

Scene:  After some time of teamwork putting the new belt on the $50 vacuum... it still didn't work.

Father:  "... I bought the best vacuum in the world... it lasts forever..."

Me:  Did you fix the hose?

Father:  "... yes ..."

the Wife:  "... no good! ... that one old, no good! ..."

Me:  Let's try it...

Scene:  How do you even turn this thing on?  "... use your foot..." he says...

So here I am, vacuuming with the oldy but pretty goody ... the design is quite smart actually, the engine is old but humming!  Smooth even!  The handles are long, but deep in the bend, wow! It goes under freaking everything!  Suction is still rockstar once we changed the filter... That IS smart design... and all he had to do was duck tape the hose back on?  pfft... that is a forever kind of technology isn't it?

Uhuru: ... see babe... there is no old here. ;) xo  that's just a state of mind...

the Wife: ... ooohhh very good... all in agreement. Plus 2 thumbs up.
